New sofa

I can only offer M&S experience. I bought two matching sofas from them and the covers are all removable, wash like a dream, dry in a couple of hours, don't need ironing, and I bought separate arm covers too.

The sofas still look like new (almost) after nearly ten years!

I don't think things need scotchguarding any more Firsttime. Last time we had our sofas recovered we were told it was unnecessary and the same with the recently bought carpets (from John Lewis) Our sofas are quite patterned so don't show marks, apart from the arms which get grubby, but clean up quite well when done by our regular carpet cleaning man. The carpets clean well with washing up liquid apart, that is, from the bit when DS1 dropped a tin of dark green paint and even that is only noticeable if you are looking for it!

I should add that although we haven't had a dog for a couple of years we have lots of grandchildren and a couple of cats!

Our two Multiyork sofas are still perfect under their covers after 21 years of hard use from all 15 of our family plus a cat and rabbit.They are on their second lot of washable covers.We would definitely buy from them again.

Have recently bought two lovely sofas from Sofas&Stuff and were impressed by their relaxed no pressure show rooms and excellent service. We chose loose covers that can be dry cleaned.

Bought 2 new G-plan sofas last Summer from Furniture Village. They are Scotchgarded [although it's called something different now] they are so easy to clean marks from!Grandchildren set them a very stern test, but the sofas passed it.
