Even though I have "hand washing" programme on my machine I always wash jumpers by hand I always have done then dried them flat in a towel and they always keep their shape,my sister washes all her jumpers etc in her machine and they either go out of shape or tend to grow a few sizes hmm

Yes, I expected this to be about OCD.

Has anyone ever tried to rinse anything cotton-y "until the water comes clear"? Impossible!

Rinsed 3 times?never heard of this. I hand wash quite a few items and only rinse twice at the most, so that you can see all the suds are gone.So I suppose it all depends on how soapy they are.I like hand washing things!

Better than foot washing in the bath though (:

as there is only one pair of trousers seems to be a bit extravagant IMO to put in machine what with water meter and price of electricity .
We had our ultility bills in today and nearly had a blue fit . We don"t use any more units it is just that price has risen SO dramatically !

I thought it was going to be about OCD or handwashing to prevent passing on germs!

I wish I had handwashed my best jumpers, they do say machine wash but seem to have shrunk.

Hand wash program here too.

I require a hand-wash programme on the washing machine and a 'machine washable' label on the garments.

First thing I look for in a washing machine is a hand wash programme. X

Ana I am in total agreement with you re hand washing, including hand washing items on holiday!

Nonu Wed 12-Mar-14 18:24:24

Ana, L O L .

I wash a pair of black trousers as the dye runs !

Ana Wed 12-Mar-14 17:52:27

Oh! I thought this thread was going to be about washing your hands...confused

I very, very rarely wash any items of clothing by hand except on holiday!

I've just hand washed a jumper and two bras.

I seem compelled to always give three rinses as taught in school nearly sixty years ago.

I wonder if I'm mad doing it but otherwise I would have had to wait until I had enough jumpers to do a machine wash. Ditto bras.
