Charleygirl I would roast under 15tog as our apartment is so warm anyway during the summer I sometimes replace lightweight quilt with just a top sheet.

15 tog charleygirl? I have a 7.5 through the winter and have now changed to our 4 tog. Even that will be too hot in a few weeks time!

I have 15 tog duvets all year round and my curtains are the same also all year round. I do not have the time, energy or space apart from the minor problem that I cannot get up a small househiold ladder to change them.

POGS nice one!

Aka Fri 25-Apr-14 13:40:09

Thanks Ana you've reminded me to look out the summer duvets.

No, I don't but my mum used to have heavy velvets in the winter and florals in the summer. I think it was because they were so poor when she was a child and the velvets were a sort of 'ambition achieved'.

Sleep much better in ptich black but here in the mountains we do not have any light pollution, and we use the thick wooden shutters- so no curtains at all.

No.

Sadly my domestic goddess is Miss Havisham from Great Expectations. grin

Stopped doing it after about three years of marriage. Mother in law did it religiously.

We used to but ran out of enthusiasm and also trying to declutter. Winter curtains take up quite a lot of storage space!

Ana Fri 25-Apr-14 10:31:15

No, I don't. It's enough of a faff changing the duvets! grin

tanith Fri 25-Apr-14 08:39:33

Don't have any curtains to change thankfully. We changed to blinds a few years ago

Gagagran Fri 25-Apr-14 08:34:38

I can't sleep if it's very dark and have to have a little bit of light creeping through the curtains all year round. In winter it's from the street lights but from now onwards it's daylight. I was frightened of the dark as a child and had a little oil lamp lit to enable me to get to sleep. I have always read a lot and think my imagination was over active!

We do the same Aka and it does open up the lounge for the summer doesn't it,I've just changed the bedroom ones as well as but the lighter morning doesn't effect the darkness in the room of a morning as I have roller blinds directly on the windows.

Brendawymms Fri 25-Apr-14 08:14:57

Can't sleep if it's light so have black out curtains all year. Bless your industry for changing the curtains. I will lie down and rest whilst I think about it. grin

Yesterday, down came our heavy winter curtains and up went the summer ones, much lighter, lined voiles. It's a sort of 'right of passage' in our house. Dark nights have gone, light nights and summer is on it's way.

Is it just our family or do others do this too?
