Magic eraser sponge

I saw the advert for those and wondered if they were good. I have some scuffs on the wallpaper in my hall from where my son and his girlfriend were play fighting (the marks came from her trainers) and no amount of cleaning has anchieved anything other than removing some of the pattern from the wallpaper but the scuffs stayed put! I might give the sponge a try if our local hardware store has them in. Her children also scribbled on two of my radiators and that won't come off either - I have renewed hope!

I have used the magic sponges and yes they do wear away the emulsion. You can really only clean a mark once and when you have finished you have a light patch on a slightly darker wall.

I've been using these for years. They are brilliant for removing marks from light switches and other hard surfaces, but you do need to be careful when using on emulsion-painted walls.

My last lot came from China (eBay!) and a whole bagful of ten only cost a couple of pounds including delivery - but you need to allow for a lengthy wait sometimes as delivery from China can be slow (about 3-4 weeks).

Lakeland sells them still, I think, but they're a lot more expensive!

Amazon has them too and they don't have to come from China. I had forgotten all about these sponges. I had some long ago which I now remember as being very effective. I think I will try them again. Thanks for jogging my memory!

Mine arrived this morning, I only ordered them yesterday! £2.20 for 10. They don't have the coloured back, which means the one I tried broke immediately, so I must be gentler in future.
