I was writing about this elsewhere on the board, but thought it deserved a recommendation. I wrote this;
'My poor little robot must be worn out.
I think it's the best present I have ever had. It's only been in action for two days, yet it has cleaned the whole house three times.
It's a bit galling, though, to see that it cleans better than I do. I never thought I could ever be embarrassed by a robot, but when it spent a good five minute under the tv unit and finally emerged waving a couple of sets of cobwebs, I did feel a bit chastened!'
I'm really impressed. Initially I was a bit annoyed (DBH bought it and chose it because he said it had better reviews), because I wanted a Roomba, but actually it's brilliant. When it gets to a dirtier area it does a sort of shuffle and spends extra time on it - amazing. It does a thick shag-pile rug beautifully, and mounts door divides, quite big ones, with ease. It manages rug fringes and thick rug edges with no problem at all.
At first it was picking up so much stuff that I had to empty the dirt box every time it went back for recharging, but today I emptied it at the end of the clean and turned it over expecting to see lots of long hairs wound around the rollers - nothing. That's been a huge problem for me in the past, as my hair is very strong.
For someone like me, with creaky hips, it's a godsend. OH knew I had used it as soon as he got home. He never normally comments, but he said it was immediately apparent!
