Boot marks on heater

I will have another go sometime soon...at the moment my wrist is still sore and I've got a sore throat too, so not just yet, but thanks all!

....maybe oven cleaner?

Nail polish remover works with ballpoint marks, though I see you have already tried acetone.

I wouldn't put Silvo on a baby's bottom!

Good point annsixty but you can't paint them!

If baby wipes do all that what do they do to their poor little bottoms?

I think I can make the front decent - if I can match the pale grey - but last night's rubbing has left me with a sore wrist....and the back is much worse than the front.

Have you tried plain old jif/cif.

If it's white and the scratch is small, try using typex. I have used on scratches on white appliances. It seems to make them disappear well. X

Sorrry to disappoint AlieOxon but Bar Keepers Friend is only a type of cleaner (powder) I get from a hardware type shop. Very useful stuff but I can't help but think a human would be even better !

I got sticky marks from selotape, which had gone black with age, off a plastic cover by using hair spray. Try it when the heater is cold and see if it works.

DD scribbled all over the vinyl wallpaper when she was little and the only thing that fetched it off was Mr Sheen spray polish.

Have you tried baby wipes? Yes sounds ridiculous I know but they are very good at removing marks and stains...

Bar Keepers Friend sounds good but I never met it...or him/her?

Found some Silvo wadding that has had some effect! But it has taken a LOT of rubbing.
And I've now found that one of the marks is a scratch...so perhaps a paint job is needed...

Bar Keepers Friend ? As pompa said try it on the back first.

If all else fails you could always paint it with radiator paint.

If it's painted try some silver polish, that will remove a thin layer of paint, so try it on the back first.
