I washed one of Mr N"s shirts and unbeknown to me [as he didn't tell me , duh]there was blood on the collar as he had cut himself shaving.

It went through the wash,, untreated with stain remover, but is still there, any hints as to how I can remove said stain.

I will expand on that. Get the powdered stain remover, the stuff where you throw spoonsful into the Washing machine. Make a paste by mixing a little with water, spread it on the stain. Leave for a few minutes and then wash off.

When DD had her road accident and bled all over her much loved swimming bag I got all the stain from her injury out it using this method. The fabric was pvc faced cotton so really tricky.

If the shirt is white otton just bleach it.

I always soak anything with a blood stain in cold water with salt poured onto the stain.

The only bleach I find that works for stains now is Sainsbury's thin bleach.

Domestos works fine for me! Down toilets, around sinks, cleaning vases, to remove tea and coffee stains from mugs and any stubborn stains from white material.

Vanish bar of 'soap' is good for blood, even after already washed.

This shirt though is pink so no bleach, know what,is such a nice shirt I could crown him really .

Try white distilled vinegar. Diluted it gets coffee stains out of carpets, so might work on shirt. X

I use 'Ace' looks a bit like bleach but can be used on colours too. Brilliant results.

Just to update, I managed to get the stain out, so feel quite pleased with myself!

Am off now for a pre-Christmas lunch !

I have always got rid of all stains...including a couple of times something that had been through the wash already..by putting the objects in a very strong solution of biological liquid and cold water for a few days first.
