I lost the back off a stud earring last week. Looked for it everywhere, as I like these tiny gold backs.
Then I was cleaning upstairs - and sent my Roomba to find it!
And it did. So I had to root though the dust it collected, it was worth it.

Save water, use the cold that comes out before the hot water. I put it in some jugs, and it runs three litres before it comes hot.
So, I then have 3 litres of slightly softer water, at room temperature when left. What for? Water house plants.

In the summer, mine waters the hanging baskets and chimney pots and any other container within reach of front and back doors. My indoor plants usually go outside in the summer anyway.

The Roomba tip is good, I have a neato and it is very easy to sift through the dust box.

My mobile phone popped its clogs just before I needed to use it for an early alarm call. I put the Roomba in my bedroom and programmed it to start cleaning a bit before I had to get up. it woke me with its gentle warble, and I then lay there watching my carpet getting vacuumed (bonus) before staggering out of bed.

Robot housemaid. Pity it can't (yet?) make tea too....
