I know this subject has been discussed before, but I can`t flippin` find it! I want a steam mop, not much over £70, that will do windows as well. Any recommendations please? I`m a complete novice regarding these, which is why I`m relying on Gransnetters to point me in the right direction!

This is a bit over your budget, but isn't just a mop, can be used for loads of things. You have to buy a separate window attachment. I love mine.

Mine only lasted a few weeks and manufacturer didn't want to know.
Bought it after seeing demonstration on TV, at DH's behest, waste of money.
Best thing for clearing windows? Lakeland Ecloth £9.99 and uses water only - after years of trying just about everything on the market, these cloths are incredible smile!

I've got the five in one H2O steam mop. It is good for hard floors, wood laminate and lino. I have not tried it on the windows yet though. The window cleaner does the outsides and I tend to use a spray and a cloth for the insides. The steam mop comes with all the attachments and is very easy to use so I must give it a try soon.

The reason I need one that does windows is that I can`t reach them, and am scared of using stepladders anymore, after a couple of falls, and especially after getting my new knee. Hilda, I was wondering about the H20. My daughter has a cheap Pifco one, that she swears by, but I can`t find any good reviews for Pifco. After the TV ads, I rather fancy the Shark ones, or Polti.

Could you beg/bribe/coerce etc someone else to do it for you numberplease?
Even a steam mop might be quite unwieldy and awkward to hold above your head for any length of time. Personally I can't hold my arms above my head for more than a few minutes!

One daughter does come round occasionally to do a bit of cleaning (she cleans my bathroom floor on her hands and knees because she says it does a better job than my rag mop!) but I don`t like asking her to do windows as well.
