I have had a bird nesting box in the garden for a couple of years now with no occupants.
But this morning there was a blue tit giving it the once over. He was checking it out quite thoroughly. I am delighted and hope he moves in.
I wonder if Kirsty put him on to it, telling him its a nice area and there will be plenty of bird food available. Just waiting for Kirsty to phone and put in a offer.......

I hope you have good luck and they do move in... I have a Robin box on my Ivy wall the Robins check it out most years but I've never had any birds in there, they seem to prefer the hedge itself..

I don't have any bird boxes, but the sparrows are busy building in the brambly bushiness behind my house. There's a black bird building in the rhododendron, and in the late spring I have a maternity colony of pipistrelle bats in my roof. I am absolutely surrounded by wildlife!

mrsmopp perhaps the bird box needs re-sited. We had one at our last house which we had to move as it was too low. The blue tits examined it every year but always rejected it until we put it higher up.

Our 3 bird boxes have been up for about 8 years. Last year for the first time one of them was used- by a wren. The wren had built up the interior so the nest was at the same level as the hole.
A real work of art, fingers crossed for this year!
