Carpet pile

I should not worry too much - really I think that incomers will know that furniture indents the pile and I am sure you have quite enough other things to do if you are moving house!

I have just done my carpet,went over it with a steam cleaner (which had carpet gliders)then hoovered it-perfect! You could try with a steam iron for small dents.

I had no success with the ice cubes. Fortunately it is bedroom carpet and the furniture more or less hides it.

Yes me too I usually use the ice cube trick - leave it to melt.

I endorse the ice cube overnight ,it really does work.

Leaving the ice cube overnight to melt gently into the indented pile has helped.

Or perhaps you could borrow a carpet shampooer (a heavy one, like an upright vacuum cleaner style) and shampoo them as that should bring the pile up.
Be careful of your shoulder though, those things are darned heavy!

If it is just where the sofas have been I would try the ice cubebrush/hoover method first.

Never tried this but read about it a few times, gently rub the dents in the carpet with an ice cube, allow to dry and Hoover, or brush .
