Dyson animal v Gtech Air

We have 2 semi-long haired cats. We're really pleased with our Vax.
Bought it online when some models where on sale.

As I have probs with both wrists and arthritis in my fingers, I found the Vax lighter than our other vacuum. Nothing wrong with the Vax motor. Our carpet looks like a stripy lawn when first mowed. .

It has 2 methods of sucking. First push (on the button) diverts the detritus straight into the . .container (?;) while a second push the revolving brush is engaged. These two differences are important factors when living with hairy animals.

I've also found it easier to dismantle than the other make.

Because we are temporarily (Ihope) home to three cats,two of which are very long haired, I bought the Dyson cordless animal cleaner for upstairs. The old one was heavy to hump up and down stairs. Find the Dyson cordless really efficient and can also use it for cleaning the stairs and vacuuming the car.
However when the old Dyson finally gave up the ghost, I replaced it with the current upright cord model for downstairs. It has a wider cleaning area and is very easy to manoeuvre. However TBH I don't like it as much as the old Dyson as there is no onboard tool storage and it seems flimsier. However it is very efficient and I have got use to being a two vac woman I think Dyson are the Marmite of the vacuum cleaner world though!

I am a GTECH air fan too. Could not cope with the weight of other models and find both the GTechs very efficient, light and easy to use...to the point that the GC love getting the little one out when we have accidents in kitchen....spilt flour etc.

I too couldn't cope with carrying the Dyson upstairs. I purchased the Gtech Air Ram both floor and hand held and couldn't be happier with them. Vacuuming is now a real pleasure. So easy to assemble, use and empty. My carpets and floors have never looked better.

I gave my Dyson away for the same reason Newist I couldn't carry it upstairs and the cord got me tangled up. I bought the Gtech Air ram and am delighted with it.It is so easy to get out for a small spill and so easy to go from carpet to hard floors and indeed through the house without stopping to change power points.I don't have the hand held model as for occasional jobs I have a fortnightly cleaner.

I have a Dyson animal, bought this year to replace an older, heavier Dyson that came with the husband, and although it wasn't my personal choice I am very impressed. No animals, some carpets and lots of hard floors. I find it a bit fiddly to empty and having to grip the trigger constantly could be a nuisance but otherwise I'm very happy. My mum opted for an AEG that has a slightly longer charge life and is easier to empty and an on-off switch and was cheaper. We're both happy bunnies...

I had a dyson animal which was heavy so I gave it to my daughter. I have a Gtech floor and hand one, I cannot praise them enough. I have 2 hairy cats, hairs get every where, for me these are the most easy and light weight cleaners anyone can have, the floor one cleans any kind of flooring without adjustment , is very easy to empty and clean, also I have never run out of charge
