What kind of blender?

I bought a glass blender so that I could use it for hot liquids (I melted a plastic one), but rarely use it, much preferring my stick blender.

I have a blender called a kitchen ninja. It has the traditional goblet, but also came with two attachments the size of tall glasses. These are really useful for chopping nuts, small amounts of veg etc. You can also make a smoothie in them as it is powerful enough to chop ice. I use it to make pastry too. Oops, I sound like an advert! I also use my stick blender, especially when I am making soup just for myself. I don't think I'd like to be without either.

I have a traditional blender and when I bought a food processor it came with a heavy glass blender which I have never used.

Most of the time I use my stick blender for soups, it doesn't blend as smoothly as the traditional one though, if you need something really smooth.

I spent quite a lot on a traditional blender. It had a heavy glass body and was a real pain to clean. It was more inside the cupboard than out. But my stick blender I use lots for making soups. Especially useful as you can use it directly in the saucepan. I honestly never missed the traditional one after I'd given it away to a friend. I've also got a large food processor in the cupboard - most of the attachments are still in the box in the garage. I do use it for making pastry but my mini processor [as recommended by Delia] is in frequent use for small quantities of finely chopped onion, breadcrumbs etc.
If I had to lose one of those, it would be the large one.
