Height of laziness

Following on from the thread earlier about laziness...into my inbox this morning popped a Groupon email featuring floor-mopping slippers! I am very tempted to buy a pair for my DH - do you think he'll get the hint?

They're about as much use as those shoes with spikes on the bottom for aerating the lawn grin

I doubt it and the ones that I have seen look a bit bulky so please be careful that he does not slip as he dances around the floor!!! .

You mean those shoes that get stuck fast in the lawn and you're only option is to remove them merlot grin

Well I'm a tad lazy but that sounds hard work to me. Prefer to sweep and mop. As for those things for the lawn they sound gruesome.
I first saw overshoes of some kind in Italy back in the 60s where someone was polishing the floor with them in a public building, skating back and forth. Probably wouldn't be allowed under current H ans S laws.

An ad. for slippers keeps popping up on my Fbook page. Now, I never click on to these annoying pop-ups but this was for indoor slippers with a removable 'outdoor' sole. What a brilliant idea, I thought wink. So I broke my no-click rule..... 58 quid a pair??? Picks self up off floor and sticks slippers in the house , and cheapo crocs by the back door.

There's a pair of those floor mopping slippers languishing in the back of my under-sink cupboard. So call me gullible and don't follow suit.

And those lawn aerating shoes don't work - the tines are too close together and anyway would need to be at least 3-4" long to have any effect at all. 6" is better!

*lyndaW"

You could root out old pairs of socks and get him to put them on. Or old, discoloured, threadbare towel or tea towel, secured by a rubber band.

Maybe you're not like me. Maybe you throw all tat out?

Anno grin

In my childhood I used to go and play with the children in quite a "big house" down the road. They had an au pair and I remember happy times with all of us with dusters tied around our feet "skating" up and down the parquet floor in the hall grin

At first there wasn't much "slide" (presumably because the polish was newly applied) but after a while we could glide with ease!

A clever way of getting the work done and keeping the children amused! wink

phoenix my mansion is not quite big enough and with my falling history, I do not think that I will indulge.

loopylou Sun 01-Nov-15 18:03:59

hmm
It definitely sounds like a recipe for disaster to me, I presume the manufacturer will have a disclaimer against those suing for broken limbs?

Somewhere online I've seen an outfit for crawling DGC which coverts the dear little one into a handy floor duster!! Honestly!

Stansgran Mon 02-Nov-15 10:31:27

I find it very therapeutic mopping the floor with an old fashioned mop.

Nonnie Mon 02-Nov-15 10:50:59

Phoenix these days the au pair would be sacked!

Mr N keeps asking for those spiked things for the lawn but I keep 'forgetting' to get them!

I find getting down on knees and scrubbing the kitchen an extremely good way of getting rid of anger. Actually I used to, just don't seem to get that cross any more.

Old socks are great for dusting wooden floors and skirting boards can do the job hands free.

NanaandGrampy Sun 03-Jan-16 20:06:00

My sisters puppy looks like one of those slippers , you can borrow her to 'swish' round the floor wink

Jane10 Sun 03-Jan-16 20:22:52

We used to wrap dusters round our feet and skate up and down our hall when I was young. Great fun and it got the job done

LullyDully Mon 04-Jan-16 13:01:27

Spikes no use on our lawn today, more likely jet skis...........no floods here but the grass is sodden and squelchy with sloppy mud.
