Thanks everyone for all the suggestions, which I shall be looking into soon. Our Tesco doesn't have them and we don't have an Asda near either, but will look at all the others.smile

Scentedcandles.com They have pillar candles in every colour you can think of. beige, coffee, metallic brown. Even black.

I have been looking for plain squat red or white candle, between 7-9 cm diameter for over a month. All the candles I can find are 'value added' ones - scented or decorated or with flowers pressed in them or in glasses. The variation and choice is wide. But plain candles seem to be unavailable.

I have seen the suggestions above but those stores with branches near me do not stock plain unadorned candles and the nearest branches of the others stores are over 20 miles away.

Asda don't seem to do earth toned stripey candles, unfortunately.

I did find some by googling but the images wouldn't stay still! hmm

It looks more ropey than earthy to me! grin

Waitrose has plenty.

Asda has lots! Must admit I didn't see many (if any) in Tesco today.

Not long ago, in nearly all homewear depts you could buy attractive pillar candles, all sizes all colours, patterns etc. They have all gone! I want to replace one, and all I can find are ivory, or Christmas candles, in white, gold or red.sad I wanted a stripey one in earth tones.
