Does anyone have any advice on how I can get my very dull solid wooden (light oak - 8 years old) floor to shine again. Oil is too slippery, so is silicone free polish, and the one I used to used, built up so much it began to 'bloom' whenever it got wet. so now I've stopped trying to shine it, but it just look dull and grubby all the time.

Is it time to sand it...I hope not, the whole downstairs is wood there will be a sandstorm!

There's lots on Google about this. Many people where we live have wood floors, no carpets. We have all wood upstairs but it's just pine. Downstairs we have tiles over pine. I think those who have oak, or chestnut, mainly use some kind of wax. Ours aren't properly finished, it's a lot of work with polishing between the coats of wax.

I am going to try this polish on my parquet flooring. I bought some Pledge Wood Floor wipes. They got dirt off but left a matt finish. I prefer it to shine.

(You can get this one from Aamzon too)
