How do you store your cardigans?

You can get soft velour type hangers in places like TKMaxx that are much better for cardigans than the wire hangers you get from dry cleaners. I hang them in plastic garment bags in colour order.

On hanger to dry then in eyesight not in wardrobe means wasting time opening door, straight into case ( always away ) or by front door if going to hang in car or in shower for immediate use. I dont like double actions waste of energy so they go where they are needed.

Mine are hanging on padded hangers in the wardrobe. I really have nowhere to store them if they are folded.

Cashmere cardigans hang in zipped bags, others sorted by colour and hang in one area of wardrobe. Long length, thicker cardigans are folded and stored on shelves.

I hang them too - TBH the cardigans I usually buy from M&S are quite fine knit and they crease readily if not hung up. Luckily the creases drop out pretty quickly, but I don't want to push my luck . I always use hangers with rounded ends that don't mark the shoulders. I agree with stillhere that it's the shorter hangers that make the bumps, so I avoid them.
Also, traditional wooden hangers - the ones which are only slightly curved, not the gents' suit hangers - should be avoided like the plague for all knitted garments!

Yes, I hang them, unless they are the sort that don't screw up easily, they get rolled up in a big drawer. I am very much a cardigan person, I layer a lot, so I am very careful with them and only buy wide hangers with very rounded ends. Shorter hangers are the ones that make bumps.

Chunky cardigans in a drawer the thin ones on hangers. Works well for me. Do the same with sweaters. To be honest I've never cracked the art of folding/rolling. A definite skill shortage.

I don't have much room in my flat and a wardrobe would take up a lot of space so I bought a clothes rail.

It's great, I can see all my clothes (and they look quite decorative) also it is easy to see if a cardigan for example is hanging awkwardly. The rail is ornamental and has curly bits on the ends where I put hats and beads.

Another advantage is that the clothes etc., are easily visible when I''m pondering on what to wear and air is circulating around them which isn't the case when they are in a closed wardrobe.

Ihave a few hangers that are long/wide enough to extend into the sleeves, just beyond the shoulder and this prevents and poking marks. Some finer garments are best hung up, others and folded/rolled.

Thank you for your suggestions. I've never thought of rolling them up, I would have thought they would still be creased. I have downsized to a small house, but have not downsized my clothing to match. Maybe I should get the book recommended and change into a tidy person.

Padded hangers in the wardrobe always.

I loosely fold mine in half and then roll them and put them in a fabric basket with handles that lives underneath where my dresses hang. Then when I need a cardi (or jumper, they're all in there) - I pick the whole basket up and put it on the bed and find what I am looking for! Dead easy.

Padded hangers work best for woollens but they do take up more room in the wardrobe.

I would store them this way if I had the room or if I took the trouble to sort my wardrobe out. My cardigans are folded and stacked.

I hang them in the spare wardrobe on hangers. I have a range of different-sized hangers, some of them have very rounded ends and are ideal for jumpers/cardigans.

I roll rather than fold them á la Mari Kondo (her book is s revelation!) which seems to work well.
