He has taken on the ...
gardening, car washing, bins, DIY, oven cleaning, floor washing.
We share...
dishwasher, laundry, washing up non dishwasher stuff.
I do the rest but he will do more if asked.
I do know how lucky I am.

When we were both working the division of labour was really around who managed to get home first and do what needed to be done to feed children, the dog and ourselves. DH always did the heavy lifting and heavy gardening. Since retiring it took us a couple of years to settle to a routine. I do all the cooking and am responsible for the finances and domestic shopping, the kitchen and bathroom and the laundry. DH does the hovering (well he bought the bloody great heavy hoover that I can't shift) inside window cleaning, most of the gardening (I do the pots and baskets), cleans the cars and does the ironing. It works well and we don't argue about it.

We both do a bit of anything although I do most of the cooking but we both put the recycling/bins out, whoever is about puts on washing or hanging it out also emptying the dishwasher. Although I do sometimes have to say "the bathroom/floors need cleaning", but I only have to ask and he's happy to do whatever. OH OH I forgot he doesn't do ironing...grin

Heehee, twas ever thus! Blue jobs and pink jobs around the house.I don't mind really, as I don't want to have all of the gardening to do, or washing the car or the windows or dragging the bins out.DH does do some cooking and is very good at it, and supplies early morning tea as well.

Who does what in your house? I feel for 14 years now DH and I have the same argument every couple of months. I do ALL the cleaning (he occasionally 'helps' with the laundry (i.e. puts my hand wash only things in the washing machine). He does put out the bins though. And keeps the car topped up of petrol. Also, most of the garden. I also do all the cooking except for special dinners where out of nowhere he concocts the most extraordinary meals. Wish he would do that every night! Is this the same in all households? Think I might suggest a swap where I do the bins and he cleans the bathroom...
