Non iron bed linen

Don't sheets that have been ironed behave just the same after two nights of someone sleeping on them? in the days I used to iron my sheets I'm sure they were crumpled after one night , nowadays I don't iron sheets I fold them carefully and lay them flat and by the time I use them again they are pretty ok , well for me anyway.

Same as tanith. I wash bed linen at 60° and don't iron any of it. I think having fitted bottom sheets helps reduce the crumples.

As far as I am aware, non iron bed linen should only be washed at 40 degrees but please double check when next you look at the sheet labels. Washing it at 60 degrees would have increased the likelihood of creases I would have thought.

I think it's the spin rpm that creases, so you could try washing at 40 or 60, and reduce the spin to 700 rpm, if you can. I have to say I try to fold sheets neatly and not iron, but iron pillow cases!

The answer is to have a bedspread! Then, unless they are uncomfortable to lie on, crumpled sheets don't matter! I have never ironed bed linen.

I might iron it if it was 100% cotton but mine is poly cotton and the wrinkles soon vanish. I would not be going to the expense of renewing it all, there have to be ways around it.

I hardly iron anything and specially not stuff like bed linen! I either hang it out to dry or tumble it, and then put it straight onto the bed rather than store it ... I always have a set in the laundry basket cos I love the smell of a fresh bed. ?

Really. Ironing sheets is a waste of time.
It's like any linen, if it's carefully folded and not crumpled up when wet, it should be fairly crumple free.

Fitted sheets nowadays certainly don't need ironing.

As for duvet covers, I never iron mine and depending on the quality, they are fairly crease free.

I don't have time in my life to iron sheets. After you've been in bed for 2 minutes you don't know the difference. Please find something else to do rather than with about sheets.

Yes I iron sheets and duvets. Always have always will.

I love the unwrinkled crispness of fresh sheets and I like the look of an uncrumpled duvet cover. It doesn't take long to do, I have all the time in the world so why not?

Can't beat crisp, fresh smelling linen.

Now dusting is a whole other matter !! Lol I treat dust as a protective covering for furniture :-))

I must admit I'm with NanaandGrampy. I do like ironed bed-linen, although most of my friends think I'm deranged!

I never iron sheets or duvet covers, but I have ironed pillowcases and hankies since I went on a Red Cross First Aid Course in the 70s, and the instructor told us that the only practical treatment for burns in the home was lots of cold water, then either cover with a clean, ironed hankie or, if the burn covered a whole limb, put it (the limb) inside a clean, ironed (and therefore sterile) pillowcase for the journey to hospital - he went on to say that this was practical because it could be found in every home. Judging by the expressions on the faces of the female pupils (including me) I'd say he was wrong there, but I've tried to do it ever since.

I fold laundered sheets/duvet covers carefully and place them under the cushion of DH's favourite armchair. Lo and behold, in a day or two they are beautifully "ironed".

Oh wow I iron mine and my friends that have stayed with me now iron theirs. I have tried non iron and if you get good quality ones they are easy to finish off. I always iron pillow cases and I iron the bottom fitted sheet on the bed using a vertical steam iron. While that is airing I iron the top sheet and the duvet cover. So nice to get into bed and I find that they don't crease that much either.

I bought two sets of brushed cotton duvets and pillows, and they don't show any creases! Bit hot though in this tropical winter we are having (or it could be me and my power surges!)

In the summer I have 500 thread count white cotton, and a grey mohair throw so you can't see creases. Occasionally iron a pillow case for guests!

I always iron my bedding , I just love the look and feel of it. I always have my best sleep on a fresh bed ! The rest of the house is a hovel, though !

If you get them out of tumble drier as soon as cycle finishes, they don't need ironing. The worst things to try to iron are fitted sheets !!

I've tried not ironing and i hate creased sheets, pillow cases and duvet cover.
