Have Dunelm gone mad?

I'm having to refurnish an entire house and thought I'd make a start on the upstairs bedrooms. I've ordered 4 sets of curtains, four curtain poles and four blinds, plus curtain rings for the poles.

I've just had a five emails from Dunelm as they will be arriving today in five different deliveries - and the curtain rings are 'not available for home delivery' only for collection in store (10 miles away!)

I feel like I'm living on Planet Zog confused

Pedant alert - it probably ought to have read 'Has Dunelm gone mad?'* but the plurality of the emails has clouded my judgement.

Just been in the same boat, Anya I ended up buying the curtains rings on eBay and they were delivered the next day.

I also had to return a damaged roller blind but other than that everything was OK.

I don't know what I'd have done without eBay.

Good luck with your refurbishment and move Merlot - I might be coming to you for some advice soon grin

It does seem very odd when you order curtains that the curtain rings can't be popped in with them.Re-name them Kafka Mill ? ?

The curtains probably come direct from the suppliers.

We didn't want a sensible answer Ana grin

Sorry...as you were! grin

They never provide enough curtain rings. I always end up buying more from eBay or Wilkinsons.

The Range is a great place for all sorts of tat necessary bits and pieces. Our nearest is 45mins away but you can buy stuff online.

I was going to look in Dunelm as we are refurbishing sitting and dining rooms and need new curtains - I thought they would be efficient and reasonably priced hmm

Jalima Thu 14-Jan-16 20:54:28

ps I don't mean that the curtains would be efficient, that Dunelm would be efficient and that the curtains they supply would be reasonably priced.
Although efficient curtains that hook themselves up to the rail would be nice!

I live in Ireland now and I've bought all my curtains from Terrys fabrics online. You can buy fabric to make your own or ready made ones and delivery wasn't expensive.

Lovely Roman blinds as well.

I've just got some lovely curtains and a curtain pole from Dunelm (luckily we have a store 10 mins away). I use them a lot and find them very good value (especially now when the sale is on).
Only problem was me measuring up wrong (why does this always happen when I measure for curtains?) and telling DH to put the curtain pole higher than it should have been, so curtains ended up 4 inches off the floor! He's moved it down now and they look fab, but I wasn't very popular for a while blush

DSiL rates putting up curtain poles second only to sealing a shower cubicle in his list of all time DIY disasters. grin

Dunelm - my DD's favourite store along with Wilko's ... she is currently creating a whole new look on a very tight budget - plus, she has great style smile

I just took a peek at Terry's Skullduggery - I'll pass that on to DD smile

Hope you are both finding inspiration Anya and Merlot and that you are both soon settled smile

Are you aware that DM have an at home measuring service? Unlike two other companies which I cannot mention for fear of advertising, I do not think that they hang them but if the measurements are correct one is half way there. The woman who measures also brings a selection of materials. I am going to try this out as soon as I receive a piece of material that is the same as the suite I have ordered.

For some unknown reason, my very placid and laid back DS has a complete aversion to Dunelm and won't go near it!!!
