Tea towels

No I always buy one on holiday too and one for my mum. Did throw a threadbare one someone had given me. They are a lovely reminder of happy holidays.

I only have one souvenir tea towel and it is almost threadbare now. Most of my tea towels are just bog standard cotton ones and some have seen better days. What i do have are two tea towels which my GS's nursery produced the last two years he was there with little 'self portraits' each child had done, with their names underneath! They are very sweet and of course i could never bring myself to use them.

I have souvenir ones and kids picture ones that are still in the plastic bag they came in. I use cheap colourful plain ones!

Yes. Can't get excited about tea towels.

I would just like to know where the panto group tea towels go in the village hall. We start every season with 6 new ones and one by one they disappear. None of the other user groups knows anything about them........??

Next year embroider "THESE BELONG TO THE PANTO GROUP. PLEASE DO NOT REMOVE THEM FROM THE HALL" on them in large red letters.

LynC I am just the same as you! The linen type are better anyway, although very thin I have some more than 20 years old, from so many counties and also countries.A Cornwall teatowel still looks fine and I know I bought it 15 years ago.

So glad it isn't just me - was wondering if I had too much time on my hands!
I too have a tea towel made at my GD nursery, also a shopping bag this Christmas, but I will use them, the material looks very robust!

I have started to use teatowels with tiny hand prints on them ( from nursery)
And one from DS's primary school 35 years ago, high time really!

When I replace tea towels, the old ones go in a bag to be use as rags or for wiping doggy paws. When I reached into the bag the other day, I was embarrassed to find the one I pulled out was in much better shape than the ones I am currently using . Time for some new ones I reckon

I bought 6 lovely quality tea towels to go with my newly painted kitchen. But I can't bring myself to use them....
They won't be nice and new any more

I had a great aunt who would hang her tea-towels on a hook in the kitchen. There were always two hanging there - the one currently in use underneath and another for show, carefully arranged on top to cover it
