DF would gently sand the drip so it was flat then touch up the area.

yes I would do the same,but let the paint really harden first over a few days or longer if you can, if it is still a bit soft it will sort of rub/peel away (only know through experience)! good luck oh and maybe use "wet n dry" very fine sandpaper(no need to wet it though)

We are just debating whether or not to have satinwood on woodwork in halls, stairs and landing.
For the first time, we have a decorator doing it and he has recommended satinwood but I wondered if it would look odd if the other side of the door is still gloss. DH says it's a separate room so it will be fine, but I'm not so sure. We can't do the whole house ( some rooms don't need to be done anyway).
Has anyone else done this?

I haven't Jalima I have satinwood through out the house although doors are varnished.
I agree with your DH and it wouldn't bother me to have each side of the door in a different finish.

DH reminded me that his mother had different coloured gloss in every room
I have changed my mind about the colour of emulsion now.

The only thingI have found is that water based or any of these quick dry paints...that they dont seem as durable as the oil based gloss/satinwood. DH was a processional decorator in his time ans always insisted we use oil based products. I have since use water based as they are so much easier to put on, but have found they have yellowed and not been as tough as Real gloss etc.

Luckylegs9 Maybe try a razor blade. It cuts the runs and drips finely rather than rubbing it off for me.
