Glass roof- conservatory

You will know that a glass roof needs some shade from the glare of the sun in summer. We had pleated blinds for many years but they finally fell apart and we are looking for an alternative. I have seen a kind of reflective film that sticks to the glass - does anyone have this? It seems quite pricey for what it is. Any suggestions welcome.

Our glass roof has an antiglare built into it ( Pilkington glass) so even in Summer we don't need blinds, which is great, as the reason we wanted a glass roof was to have an all round view of the garden ( no blinds needed at all.)Apart from blinds, or replacing the glass, not sure what your answer to this would be. somebody else is sure to know.?

Yes I have heard of the Pilkington glass - wonderful product - pity it hadn't been invented when our conservatory was built. But it's good to know that it is effective and cuts glare and screens off the heat. We had a quote of £700 for a firm to fit the solar film. Maybe we could do it ourselves.......hm

Update!
We took a chance and bought reflective solar film online. By fitting it ourselves we saved over £500 and it does exactly what we wanted. It has cut down on the glare and solved the problem of the conservatory being too hot. Very happy. Problem solved!
