This is a bit of a moan, sorry. I recently purchased two faux leather dining chairs from a well known retail park shop, sells mainly bedding and curtains, begins with a D and ends in M. Well firstly the delivery took 10 days to arrive, bad enough as I was wanting them the week before. When they arrived and I unpacked them one of them was damaged, I immediately rang the company ( that's bloomin difficult enough, as you have to go through numerous press 1 for this, press2 for that etc etc) oh says they you should have told the delivery driver, WHAT says I how could I have as he had delivered them and gone der! Oh says she well we will send you another one out, how long will that be says I, don't know as it comes from a different company. I now have to get in touch with the delivery company and organise my own delivery which might take any thing up to 10 days. Well we can offer you the money back, WHAT says I, I needed those chairs as I have visitors coming all the time now you've made me wait 10 days already just to say you can give me the money back-if I had not wanted the chairs I would not have ordered them! Bloody hell what ya gotta do around here. I have written to the company 3 times now by email cos you cannot get their number, only the customer service which by now I am going round in circles. Needless to say I have not had a reply and to add insult to injury they have reduced the chairs. EEEEK no wonder so many companies are going bust! No customer service. I am just having a rant.

Can you get the money back for the original chairs order and then place a new order for the now reduced chairs?

It's an absolute disgrace for the shop you bought from to wash their hands of it too!

Sometimes a comment on the Facebook page of the company can bring excellent results, they don't want the whole world to know of customers problems so deal with it quickly. Or Twitter as well

Ooooh, sorry you are having this trouble, I always sign for delivery of anything along with the comment "unchecked" as it is impossible to inspect fully your item when it is delicered, your post also reminded me of the 4 breakfast bar chairs we bought from John Lewis many moons ago (25 yearsish ago), they were in the sale at £28 each, we ordered them for delivery and prior to delivery they advised us that they had been further reduced to £14 each and then at delivery we were advised that they were now £12 each, they did refund our overpayment, they were a real bargain and it seemed bonkers to reduce them as we had already ordered and paid for them, but we were very happy!

Well Kateykrunch that's John Lewis for you, I should have ordered the chairs from there. Thanks for your comments, I may cancel the order as you suggested Thingmajig and re-order at the reduced price. I may well put the moan on the fb page of the company as they deserve a bad press! Thanks once again. I really needed to get that off my chest.

I think you should put your complaint on Twitter. I bought my granddaughter a coat from Zara and the zip broke after about 2 months I used Twitter (as it was mentioned on Gransnet as a good way to complain) I had a reply by next day, uploaded photos of the coat so they could see, they arranged for me to have a refund and we bought a new coat when we collected the refund which we wouldn't have done if they had been difficult.
