Imprinted concrete drive

My DS had one put down earlier this year. It looks very like the stone slab drive that DD had put down, and I am assured it is not at all slippery in wet weather. It has a matt finish and it looks very good. They had it continued around the side of the house to form a patio at the back.

They had a dark grey one, on a steepish slope at a house near where I used to live. I collected for the RNLI and hated going up that drive as it was very slippery when damp. I would steer clear of imprinted concrete if I were you.

Had ours done last year and we are delighted with it! Very practical and we still have large lawned areas. We do hose it down from time to time but not bothered about it looking pristine - just that the many birds in our garden leave their calling cards! Quite a few passers by have asked for the name of the company. Ours is mid grey and has a weathered look which we love - blends with our own weathered looks

Ours is slippy if it's icy but aren't they all? It's fine otherwise.

Ours is black. Perhaps slate grey is more practical. Ours has been admired by quite a few people and some of them have asked for the tradesman's phone number and had their own done.

When I moved in 16 years ago the patio was already imprinted concrete. As the side passage was a muddy track, I decided to have that and the front done in the same style. It's slate grey and has not needed to be re-coloured.

A bungalow near us has a dark grey imprinted front drive, and despite their pots of pansies I feel it always looks a bit gloomy. I'm sure it is practical, though.
We had our drive block paved last year and it is non-slippy and so far,has no weeds coming through. It is a buff/pale orange colour.

We have one. It does not get slippy, nor does it get weeds. The only bit that gets an occasional weed is where the man had to cut a line to allow for expansion in hot weather as it is a big path.
The main disadvantage is that we have to have it 'repainted' every few years as the colour fades. Also the rain needs somewhere to run so you need to keep some garden. If you don't keep some garden I think you have to apply for planning permission.

Gaga have you found it slippy in the wet or icy in winter (any more than other types of drives)?

Part of the side path of our house is imprinted concrete and it looks just what it is - artificial! There is no way of disguising it as anything else so you either like the look or you don't. I can't say it gets any dirtier than the plain parts of the path.

They look well but I always wonder about all the imprinted grooves, collecting dirt, therefore weeds.
They'd take regular hosing to keep them looking pristine.
