The Loogun

Has anyone ordered the toilet cleaning Loogun. I did hmm, am I daft or what? It seemed like a good idea at the time. Anyway, it arrived yesterday, and I unpacked it, but there was no screwdriver in the contents as listed. Did anyone else get one? We do have screwdrivers, but when you are promised one, you should get one. Also it appears that you have to use high energy, re-chargeable batteries to work the darn thing. I think we have some re-chargeable ones, somewhere, so will have to find them and charge them up, then see if it works.

I too watched the Vegemite video, made me smile! I paid £36.49 inc. P&P. The company doesn't claim it removes limescale, and also suggests normal regular cleaning of the toilet with the usual chemicals. I think it is just intended for skid marks above and below the water.
Unless, like me, you hate loo brushes, it might not be worth the expenditure to you * Luckygirl*.

Luckygirl Sat 08-Oct-16 19:02:53

How much do they cost?

I went onto Youtube and discovered that it is very good at detaching vegemite from the side of an aquarium!

Is it just useful when a large log has left bits in the toilet that need getting rid of? Or does it work well on stains/ watermarks from the water standing in the bowl? - we have a septic tank and do not want to use chemicals if we can help it.

I'd forgotten about this thread. I sent mine back, and got a refund. Postage charge by the Post Office was another story altogether. ?

i think i have just stepped through a portal to an alternative world

Received my Loogun today. What a lot of money for a glorified water pistol, large though it is! However, it does the job a treat. I have never used a toilet brush as they are so unhygienic (rubber glove and loo roll for me), so look forward to getting the benefit of my new toy.
I posted today to tell anyone interested that there is a 10% off offer ending today. On order page type in 'promotional code' box: UNO for one or DUO if buying two.

Hmm. Just a good scrub - with the lavvy brush?

SueD Thu 14-Jul-16 16:16:52

Useful for people with septic tanks as bleach and lavatory cleaners destroy the bugs that keep them flowing. ?

jinglbellsfrocks Thu 14-Jul-16 12:24:07

Do people's diets need looking at? confused

Nothing wrong with lav cleaners. Flush before you poop to avoid a sore botty.

Rim blocks are good.

aggie Thu 14-Jul-16 12:19:52

Pair of disposable plastic gloves and a wad of toilet roll removes the unmentionables on the few occasions that a good flush doesn't work

Mumofboys18 Thu 14-Jul-16 10:18:43

strange Auntieflo that you required a lot of squirting - we find it just needs a bit of a squirt and all marks vanish in couple of seconds. I literally get annoyed when my boys do clean number twos as means I can't get my Loogun out!

Jinglbelfrocks - i hear what you're saying but i don't want to keep putting bleach down my loo just to try and shift a stain - and that doesn't really get rid of anything quickly - and i hate loo brushes and their filthy bristles. It doesn't claim to get rid of hard water marks - i bought it for the sole purpose of not ever having to touch a poo stain with a dirty brush again and for that purpose it works brilliantly.

Happy toilet going everyone grin

Anyone else got a Clog Cannon from flylady.com? I've not used mine on the loo but it needs no batteries and is brilliant at unblocking bath and sink plug holes.

jinglbellsfrocks Thu 14-Jul-16 09:21:41

Does it shift hard water marks? Which is more to the point round here.

What the flip is wrong with a squirt of domestos and a brush?

I've had five toddlers through this house now, and not one of 'em chewed on the lavvy brush. hmm

Total rubbish.

I hit the 'order now' button several times and nothing happened. Think I'll have to revisit - I want one, and so does my DD!

Auntieflo Wed 13-Jul-16 12:13:31

Morning all. We received our Loogun on Saturday, and unpacked it. It is actually larger than I thought, and there was no screwdriver inside. You need 4x AA batteries to power the thing, and we had a long email explaining that we should use top of the range hmm rechargeable ones. OK, so we did have a screwdriver, and DH charged up the batteries. We, I, have used it, and am not terribly impressed, as it takes a lot of 'squirting' to clean the bowl, minimum staining. TMI. We will see. I did email the company, telling them about lack of screwdriver, and received one in the post yesterday. It is minute , about two inches long, and easily lost I should think. At the moment it is on trial. Watch this space.

Mumofboys18 Wed 13-Jul-16 11:17:26

Hi Indinana - you just go to their website - www.loogun.com - and at the top it has a 'order now' tab and just hit that!

Also I think when it says 'stubborn stains' it's just a polite way of say poo marks that didn't go away with the first flush!

Indinana Tue 12-Jul-16 22:41:16

Well I honestly don't know how you have bought one - I've been to the website and the only option seems to be to register my interest and they will contact me by email when the loogun is available. How did you get one, Auntieflo and Momb?

petra Tue 12-Jul-16 16:38:12

I've just read the blurb. How the hell do you get stubbon stains in your toilet. To me a stubbon stain is one that has been left to fester and not dealt with at the time.

rubylady Tue 12-Jul-16 04:03:35

Wouldn't the water from the toilet splash back up at you?

aggie Mon 11-Jul-16 16:11:50

Think I'll stick to thick bleach ,and toilet cleaner under the rim

winifred01 Mon 11-Jul-16 16:03:04

Looks good. Where did you buy it?

Mumofboys18 Mon 11-Jul-16 10:52:06

I saw on FB someone ask this question about the water pistol but apparently that wouldn't get marks off from below the water line - you need the motor to provide enough power to clean below water.

hildajenniJ Sun 10-Jul-16 23:58:12

Just googled it. I want one!

Auntieflo Sun 10-Jul-16 22:23:13

Aggie, I did wonder that after I had bought it hmm. DH is charging batteries , so will try it out tomorrow. Stand by for blast off.

aggie Sun 10-Jul-16 22:00:52

I looked it up and am not convinced !I can see the GSs using it as a watergun/pistol , would a waterblaster do the same ? lol

Newquay Sun 10-Jul-16 21:55:42

What on earth is a Loo gun??
