Shower door fallen off!

What a nuisance! I've never seen one without screws to hold it in, but didn't want to read and run!

Do you know who the manufacturer was or where it was bought? If so they may be able to help. Or possibly google the problem, for an answer.

I've tried googling the problem with no joy. Will try getting in touch with manufacturer. Came with house which we moved into last year.Thanks J52.

Just checked it. No manufacturers name on glass panelling. The hinge ,the whole height of the door,rotates with the door in it if you see what I mean!

I,m not very DIYish but I think you're going to have to take the hinge off, Their must be screws holding that their, lay it flat and put the door back in. Glues should not really be used in a confined space,or so I'm told.

We have door for a shower over the bath but it only moves one way. Husband glued it back on recently - I'll ask him what he used.
I'm very reluctant to leave it like that though, could cause a nasty accident if it fell on top of someone.

Our shower door did the same a couple of weeks ago. I was too scared to try and stick it back on, so had another one fitted instead. Relief!

If you're not the handyman type, get one in.

Ours fell off some time ago and I bought a rail and a shower curtain - not the same but safer I think. Our shower door was heavy and the thought of it collapsing on some-one just wasn't worth the worry.

Sounds like a DIY job, most big companies have their logo on he unit. Did the previous owners not leave manuals for fixtures and fittings? Usual to leave instruction books.

I'm not sure it should have been glued in at any point in time, and I'd definitely get someone who knows what they're doing to fix it.
However, just as a bit of useful information, if anyone's looking for glue that really does stick, I can recommend Gorilla Glue, just be careful what you stick with it, because it's going to be stuck permanently

We had loads of trouble with shower enclosure, broken door, impossible to clean or repair etc ended up changing it to a walk in shower no hinges or door. Brilliant.

I just asked DH (he's a DIY wizard) about your shower door. He says it would have been glued into the vertical hinge, as screws through the glass would have 'stressed' the glass and could have cracked it.
He thinks Gorilla Glue might work, but what you really need is a waterproof epoxy adhesive which will set really hard and strong!

We too now have a walk in shower and its such a relief as its easy to clean and nothing to go wrong. I agree, Brilliant.

By coincidence husband had decided to re-fix ours today. It's not glued after all but has some screws through the plastic connector to the wall. He asked for my help to "hold it", then lifted it off and clonked me on the head with the corner
It's a 3 piece concertina. Still don't think it's safe.
As others have saud, get an expert in.

Have asked DH who turns his hand to almost anything and he agrees with Juggernaut's DH. A strong waterproof adhesive. Has suggested Everbuild Stixall. He said if you get a professional to do the job it's unlikely they will want to repair it and will probably look to install a new fitting.

Even though DH is very competent at any sort of DIY we would get a local tradesman in, the sort who do bathrooms. . . .

I have now found the make of the shower doors.Kermi.I think I will ring them and ask for advice.

We rented out our home whilst we moved to Devon for 3 years to help with a new grand baby. First tenant requested we buy a washing machine and a cooker which we did -both brand new. Second tenant mentioned that the 'grill door' sometimes fell open but it wasn't a problem. Now we're back the oven door keeps falling RIGHT off (grill door is fine). No longer under guarantee so we''l just have to fork out for a new one.

Just a train of thought prompted by this thread. Feel (a bit) better now I've shared........

Guarantee or not items should be 'fit for purpose' might be worth contacting the manufacturer and trading standards Seadragon as that's a health and safety issue.
