I hate the little devils! I was attacked by a swarm of very angry wasps when I was a child at school. There was a nest near the dining hall and it was accidentally disturbed and I was one of many who suffered retribution. I had them trapped in my hair and down the back of my neck and was dragged into the staffroom whereupon the teachers bravely wrapped their hands in their skirts and squashed them before removing them from my hair etc.
My treatment? Getting dabbed with Reckitts blue bag and sent back to class for afternoon lessons!

I had one near the patio. I soaked nail varnish remover on cotten wool balls, chucked that around, then puffed ant killer around the area. They left.

My Daughter and her Husband are selling their house , clearing the loft they noticed wasps flying about , hasty exit and pest control called ! there was a huge nest near the backdoor but it has been dealt with now ! I have got a grey fabric balloon like thing hanging near the back door , it is supposed to keep wasps away as it looks like a nest to them and being territorial they keep clear , working soo far

Wasps indeed - my DD noticed wasps going in and out of the tiles on our new bungalow - how dare they!? They go in under one tile and come out under the one next to it. Council bod coming tomorrow - £55!!!!

Celeste, may I suggest you start a separate thread to ask advice about your kitchen. Your question might get lost among the wasps here! Go to Forums, choose a category and click on 'Start a new discussion'
Your kitchen sounds fabulous!smile

I probably shouldn't tempt fate by saying it, but I was only remarking yesterday that I haven't seen a single wasp so far this year. I was wondering if they were late, but obviously not. I hope you get rid of them soon, Scooter.

New white gloss kitchen with black wortktops in the process of being fitted. Flooring!! Can't decide between vinyl tiles or Amtico. Also trying to decide what type & shade if wall tiles would complement it. Any advice welcome.

We seem to get one in our roof most yearssad despite people saying they don't return to the same place.
We pay our local council to come and do the business.
Rang yesterday, he came today-job done.

My dog is very allergic to wasp stings; always try to carry Piriton with me just in case.

Noticed lots of the blighters milling around my front door canopy, pest control man came tonight and said it's a massive nest with hundreds swarming about, treated it but will have to come back tomorrow, front door now a no go area, just as well I have a back door, albeit I have to go through the neighbours garden to get to the street.Seems to be a few houses in the street have nests too.More scared for my dogs than I am for myself.
