Parking outside your home

As we are just off the village high Street we have a single yellow line outside so no-one is allowed to park there during the day Monday - Saturday. It can be a real pain for workmen etc as our drive is only wide enough for one car at the bottom and then there isn't really enough room to open the door.

Thank goodness DH is not the only one who gets het up about this. Made even worse at the moment because our neighbours are having a massive extension built and there are always vans and cars parked in front of our house. I have reminded him that we don't own the road and suggested he puts a three piece suite and a piece of carpet on it if he thinks he does grin. I suspect it is a man thing, having read the other posts. Before I thought it was a shouty controlling post stroke man thing. confused

Unless they block me in to my drive I couldn`t care less . I think it is a man thing , my x used to get obsessed about next door having 3 cars even though they weren`t parked outside our house . He fell out with all the neighbours in turn for one misdemeanour or another , now I am divorced I make sure I get on with everyone because it makes for a nicer life .

Yes yes yes my OH hates it that next door have up to 6 cars parked at various times , we both park our cars in the drive and they can park 3 in theirs but mostly don't so at least 2/3 are parked on the road or outside our house and he constantly moans about it. It does make turning out of the drive awkward when they park right up to the edge of our drive but its still doable.

It is a bit annoying when we get visitors and they have to park further away but really there are more important things to moan about grin

Oh. Where to start melp1 !

We live in a terraced house. No garages or drives but each property has 1 allocated parking bay (numbered) at the rear of their property. There are a few (visitors) bays on the front but not nearly enough. My next door neighbour has 4 cars and a motorbike. They do not use their numbered bay (it is always empty) but they park all over the front including on the pavement right outside my front window which drives DH absolutely batty.

Additionally, we live very close to the seaside and on summer weekends we are plagued by visitors trying to avoid paying to park in the seafront car parks. It is sometimes so bad you cannot get in or out the estate.

Does anyone else's hubby get irate when the neighbours (or anyone)park in front of their house. We have 2 cars and a drive and garage. I can't see the problem as long as they haven't blocked our driveway (which doesn't happen very often).
We park in our garage or in the driveway and would only be on the road if moving the other car out of the drive.
Our neighbours only have parking for 2 cars but often have 4 cars and a van, so 3 are on the road.
Is it a man thing?
