Venetian or otherwise blinds for kitchen

Afternoon all,
Trying to find a reasonably priced blind for my kitchen. I've recently moved and the window is not a standard width - it measures 175m wide. Most companies/shops offer widths of 160 or 180. Hillary's will do one, but for about £50, and that seems a helluva lot to me. I've searched and searched online but with no luck, unless I'm prepared to pay a fortune, and I'm not a wealthy woman.
Any recommendations? I'm a bit worried about buying one which you cut to fit; I'm not good with straight lines...

I think that £50 is a reasonable amount to pay, especially as it will be fitted for you so apart from choosing you will have no other worries.

I am having the same problem with bathroom and downstairs loo blinds- I also do not feel confident to cut them and I certainly could not hang them.

We looked at various options and got four estimates but in the end went to a small local firm who measured, supplied and fitted blinds for various rooms. We have been very pleased with the service and they all look fantastic.

The average cost was £100 per window for a standard triple window size mostly verticals but also including wooden venetians for the kitchen and utility. We have done the most important ones first and will do the others as and when.

No way would we have attempted to it ourselves, each to his own. smile

£50 doesn't sound too bad. The one we had fitted in our kitchen cost a lot more than that. We have had Hillarys to quote for blinds for our conservatory, and also the firm that fitted our kitchen and living room blinds. Hillarys were very competitive - over £100 cheaper; same fabric. We are waiting for another quote before we make a decision but can't see anyone undercutting them. This is by no means an advert for Hillarys, by the way; I don't always base decisions on cost alone.

I just wanted to big up H. smile
He fitted both our kitchen and bathroom venetian blinds, which we bought from Dunelm, they are standard size though. We have cut roller blinds to size in the past. I could not of done it alone.
