I have a mobility car too . You have to pay for the hoist but you get it at a discount if you are eligible for Mobility .

I've just purchased a new one , £165 inc fitting.

The only restriction is dependant on your scooter type there's needs to be a certain clearance in the boot opening but they are very helpful and work all that out for you.

rubylady why do you not PM Galen? She has experience with scooters as well as G&N.

Galen has praised her folding(I think ) scooter which is lightweight and called a "Luggie" I believe.

Yes, Daphne she has, I could not remember the name of it. It appears to be a lot lighter than most scooters.

You don't need a man. They are optional extras.

And tend to need more maintenance and upkeep than any mobility scooter

Dont get a man,get a hoist.A hoist doesn't hog the remote, leave smelly socks on the floor,snore or guzzle pints of beer.

I can't find a man so made do with metal ramps instead to get my scooter into the back of my estate car, much less trouble long term .....

I think you'd find that longer term, a man works out more expensive than £165 inc. fitting.....
