I found a really comfortable chair for my bedroom at Home Sense- the only problem is that it does not have arms but it is a decent height. My cat thinks so too!

I agree . I would love to have stylish modern furniture which had higher seats to make it easy to get up. The choice seems to be Louis Quinze style or really fuddy duddy stuff made for old people- curly legs at the front and wings to stop draughts.

Lloyd Loom make attractive wicker armchairs that are upright and dining chair height. They can be bought new, or, if you like secondhand goods, make a visit to a large Antique Fair (Newark, Peterborough, Newbury etc) where you should find a range of vintage Lloyd Loom chairs - and cheaper than new.

Try Next. They have various styles . Bought one for our lounge and very pleased with it.

Do any manufacturers make 'normal' chairs with higher seats? I am fed up with having to get booster cushions for them.
I want to replace our conservatory furniture, but my husband finds it very difficult to get out of the standard low ones, and the only high seat chairs I can find are upholstered fireside styles.
There must surely be a market for something between the standard chair and adjustable electric recliners?
