Boiled water tap

The concept of these frightens me.....they just look like an accident waiting to happen. Also I always thought they were more designed to replace the kettle - be a source of boiling water ....not simply hot.......as in for washing up.

It seems they are extremely expensive to buy and install, there are splashback of boiling water problems unless you are extremely careful. Also if the water is boiling doesn't that mean you'll be heating water to boiling unnecessarily if you just want 'hot' water rather than boiling?

The decision to replace the kitchen water tap with a boiled water system has been taken out of our hands - too expensive however after much investigation I'm determined to get one installed at a later date. Now to move on to the installation of a new tap. After waiting 2 weeks for the plumber to call - he installed the new tap only to find it was faulty. I've returned the tap to the shop which will be nameless - swapped it and gave the shop the plumbers bill which was accepted it's only fair to say. Now waiting for the plumber to call today then presto back to normal. No running to the bathroom sink. Have you any idea what that's like? It's had to be scrubbed more often than usual.

Those taps are supposed to replace a kettle only, not to be used for normal kitchen cleaning, dishes etc. I agree that it is an accident waiting to happen if it was the only hot water tap in the kitchen.

Surely it would cost more money to run if it were used as a normal hot water tap, having to dilute everything except when making tea, coffee etc.
