Has anyone ever used these instead of ordinary kiln dried or seasoned logs? I have sent off for a few online to try them out.

Are more expensive than seasoned logs, Luckygirl?

I will be interested to hear how they compare.

We have had our multi-fuel stove, or wood-burner as it's mostly known, for 10 years now. We use a mixture of smokeless coal(HETAS approved) and heat logs, now. We buy the heat logs in bulk from a wholesaler, and collect them in our Zafira. They work out a lot cheaper that way.
We find they burn very hot and are good for starting the stove. DH chops them in half to get even more value!
We stopped using real logs as the price of the wood just got too expensive and we found some was not properly dried out and we had to store it for a while.

We started with kiln dried - they burned very fast and gave lots of heat - but were hugely expensive.

We then got dome "seasoned" and they were very difficult to burn.

So I am trying the heatlogs to see how they work out.

We have not tried smokeless fuel.
