My Dyson V6 animal, my new yoghurt maker from Lakeland, my Whizzer (recommended by Ana) from Amazon, my RFID wallet, a chain to keep my purse safe from pick-.pockets, my present Krups coffee machine, numerous spices (low carb thread), my previous car (Nissan Qashqai - Kitty?), my eyebrow powder (had never heard of this before), new denim jeans (John Rocha), crazy Rock 'n Chalk hair colours (pink, purple, green and blue) and ....I could go on and on.

Is it just me? Or have others thought 'that sounds a good idea!' hmm

Pleeeease! Someone! Tell me what on earth and onion comb is! Do I need one?

Josiebear Mon 30-Jan-17 19:35:01

Oh my, am I so very sad that this thread has excited me so much? Love nothing more than getting advice and hints for purchasing stuff - more please!!

Antonio - I've just seen that it was you who were responsible for me buying boots today! I hope you find a pair you like too from all the great suggestions to your post on comfortable but smart boots.

A Gransnetter is responsible for me buying a pair of Rieker boots (that I really didn't need) today! This was on another thread about a search for comfortable, smart ankle boots. One poster included a link to some cute Rieker boots she had bought - which lead me to another pair. Oh well, they do look nice and I'm looking forward to getting the parcel from Germany in the post.

Goodness Wizzits are cheap now, I think I paid £14.99 for mine! (mind you, it was a few years ago and I'm glad so many GN members agree with my recommendation).

I have just ordered a pair of Footglove boots, thanks to much information from GNetters. (See my recent thread 'Comfortable but smart boots.')

This is a wizzit.
I have remembered a few more things after seeing others mention them. This includes the Wizzit, magic lipstick and D-Mannose.

Bought Laluset cream thanks to a poster! I love it, and had never heard of it before. Thanks!

Sat reading this thread. Doorbell goes and it's my DHC mascara as recommended on gransnet.

Never considered Hotter shoes then saw those ankle boots in the sale and am now hooked. Bought 4 pairs of shoes on a good offer. Comfy and stylish

nanaK54 Mon 30-Jan-17 15:22:56

d-mannose and what a great tip that was

Morgana Mon 30-Jan-17 14:34:01

Lakeland drier for daughter. Now considering hotter shoes, electric pressure cooker,M and S jeans and would love one of those G tech hoovers. who is selling them 'cheap' at mo? No wonder my daughter says I spend too long on grans net!

I'm taking a Future Learn Course on Genealogy, I wasn't aware they existed before seeing it on GN.

I love Hotter shoes, I've been wearing them for years, the boots look great, might have to get somegrin

GN readers said how much they enjoyed a cup of tea made with Yorkshire Gold tea bags. I'm English but I live in Ontario and a good cup of tea of VERY important to me - still! I had to search for them in several speciality grocery stores, but once I found them and used them I realized how much better my morning cup of tea tasted.

I'm on holiday in Florida for several months at the moment and running out of the supply I brought with me - so I've had to go onto the Amazon UK site and have placed an order for two large boxes that are being shipped to me here from a supplier in England. A good cup of tea made with Yorkshire Gold is something I don't want to give up for any reason or for any length of time.

Thanks GN readers!

Someone mentioned buying an Instant Pot electric pressure cooker a few weeks ago,,they were wondering if they should buy one or not--the reviews on Amazon were brilliant so I ended up buying one-- a brilliant piece of kit-- use it everyday.. Stews in 35 mins, whole chicken in 30 mins.. its very useful.

PamelaJ1 Mon 30-Jan-17 13:03:21

What's a whizzer?

schnackie Mon 30-Jan-17 12:54:31

Kim19 said it perfectly a few posts up! I got my rebounder (mini trampoline) due to a GN recommendation and have finally lost 5 lbs when my diet alone was failing! Plus the invaluable emotional advice!! Thanks to all!

Kim19 Mon 30-Jan-17 12:35:13

Addendum to my last please. I've just been to Boots to replenish my stock of IBP and discover that 30g AND 40g are both 2 for £8. Ridiculous but...purchaser be aware.

annodomini Mon 30-Jan-17 12:31:42

Can'tt - should read, Can't wait

annodomini Mon 30-Jan-17 12:28:27

There are alternatives to laminate Misha get him to look at this website on Karndean floors unless it's just that he prefers carpets.

Never found a carpet shampoo that really works, but I'm probably expecting too much.

Misha14 Mon 30-Jan-17 11:57:33

Anyone recommend a carpet shampooer that really works? My hall carpet is in need of a clean but I'm wary of using my old steamer in the winter as the house would be full of steam.
If not a machine then any other hints would be helpful. DH refuses to have laminate which would probably solve the problem.

Perdita33 Mon 30-Jan-17 11:44:55

I'm doing a Future Learn on-line course, which I heard about in Gransnet

Kim19 Mon 30-Jan-17 11:36:21

Thanks for the Robert Dyas price tip, HannahLoisLuke, I'm on the case right now. This is NOT what I planned to be doing this morning. Hey-ho. Also, for tired and stiff knees please consider Boots own max strength ibuprofen 10 per cent 40g Usually £5.99 and currently on offer 2 for £8. A wee rub in the morning works wonders for me all day.
