At DGS birthday party I wanted them to play mummy. One of them wraps the other one up in loo roll without breaking the loo roll.
SO bought a huge pack from Lidl, no way did it hold together, we ended up with sheets of toilet paper everywhere, but the children had a great time. Obviously you need to use good quality to get a continuous wrap.

Nicky is brilliant (guaranteed not to be Medicated with Izal Germicide!) and I pay £4 for 18 rolls from local small market. Another poster has kindly listed stockists, so I won't bother repeating. No comparison with anything else I have bought. I use it a lot for blowing my nose, and it doesn't disintegrate. Not a shareholder, honestly!

They also do kitchen towels.

Nicky was compared with other brands and came out top on one of those consumer programmes some time ago. I think it's nationwide, provided you have Wilko, B&M Stores, Home Bargains and similar stores nearby. We've used it since seeing that programme.

We use newspaper cut in squares & threaded on a piece of string. Leave you to guess which paper.

I always buy Aldi Aloe vera 3 ply and it is fine but does shed fine dust over the stainless steel dispenser.

I ve never seen or heard of Nicky do you think it's regional ?
I ve used Lldl Aloe Vera for a long time now simply because I like the smell it gives out it's cheap and works fine
I don't know how you can wipe sitting down how do you get your hand in between you and the loo
I ve never had any shredding problem either nor ever given loo paper much thought it's just a shopping list necessary like washing up liquid

Gosh the only thought I have given to Loo paper prior to reading this thread is if it is time to replenish the stock. I just buy Aldi's best one like one of the previous posters mentioned. It isn't padded or anything fancy. I would only ever have white though I think the coloured or patterned ones are a bit naff.

I have never had all this shredding problem mentioned by some posters. In fact when I saw the thread I thought it was a joke or a wind up. It isn't, is it?

I always used Andrex, for decades, but now I prefer Nicky which you can get in packs of 18 or smaller. It is very good value and you can buy it in Savers. I have bought it from Ocado before but it is £1 more, but I sometimes get it from there if it's more convenient time wise and I'm having a lot of other shopping delivered. Most toilet paper sheds paper dust when you tear sheets off which makes the bathroom dusty, but I find that Nicky doesn't. I wouldn't change back to any other brand.

Cushion and quilted loo paper is too thick and doesn't flush away properly.
For that reason, I don't use it. Asda shades is ok.

The best I've ever used is Lidl's Floralys 4 ply. My friend uses cheap stuff but a roll of mine lasts four times as long as hers. Don't know if it's sold in the UK though.

After trying out several, I find I like Tesco's own brand best.

I buy what's on offer but always finish with moist toilet tissue

At primary school we had to go to the toilet down the yard to get some Izal to use for tracing paper.

I've just been to Japan and the loo paper there is only one ply and so you need lots of it unless of course you use the loos which will wash you either back or front. Surprisingly rather nice but I never did find the dryer button ! There was also a 'privacy' button which will play music to mask any noise you might make! I didn't feel the need to use it though so no idea what sort of music it was.
Another Nicky fan here and agree about Cushelle not being as good as it once was.

Ah yes - Izal - wonderful stuff. I once entered a toilet cubicle and heard the lady next door having hysterics - when I went to see if she was OK I found an American lady laughing her head off over the Izal and saying she just had to take some home to show her friends!

Now wash your hands...

I usually buy the 3ply from Lidl or Aldi here. But here in Portugal they put used toilet tissue in a bin by the toilet. Yuk! Even in the hospital there were notices not to flush paper down the loo.

I also changed from Andrex and was buying Aldi quilted. However that also started to get thinner and we're now using Morrisons quilted, much stronger.

I nearly always buy ASDAS shapes, funnily enough, we were talking the other day about those terrible days when we used IZAl, it cant be still around surely.

Has anyone noticed how much cheaper it is nowadays? I always buy a branded one wherever there is a good offer but I have noticed that it disintegrates more easily now and I do wonder if the quality and quantity has changed.

Okay, one last try, will give the Iceland ones a go as recommended. I think I am allergic to some. I do remember the torn up newspaper. As for toilet washlettes you should only put 1 down the loo per flush, more and thats how you end up blocking either yours or worse still your neighbours drains. We have a neighbour who blocked our shared drains as she was putting her used cat litter down the loo!, but we were the ones that ended up with the raw sewage backing up into our garden. It affected 4 houses including hers, we had to get the drains men in and my DH and another neighbour had to do all the heavy graft, finding the blockage, lifting patio's, rodding, moving her fence as they had fenced over the drain access and her husband didn't even answer the door or offer any help......oop's, rant over, sorry.

Katykrunch, did you try the 3-ply? We think it's good! On the other hand, I love your obtaining a refund under 'Happiness' t and c's!
