living in Witham, Essex

please can anyne who lives in Witham, Essex or has done so within the last 10-15 years comment on the area, either good or mostly the down side if applicable.

I used to live in Witham about 10 years ago and I enjoyed it. A small town with a few necessary shops and some nice pubs, cafes and restaurants. Lovely villages nearby and easy getting onto the A12. Also has a mainline station - London in 50 minutes. I would move back if I could.

I've lived in Essex for over 30 years and haven't heard anything bad about the area.

A friend at work lives there with her young family, and is very happy there.
