I live alone and pay it for peace of mind because there's no shoulder to cry on if something goes wrong. I have had to use it twice in 10 years.

I have never paid home emergency cover. So far no problems.

Renewing my home insurance again, I always add, home emergency over, don't know how much I have paid over the years. It works out an extra £60 on top of insurance cost. If I stop it now, what' the odds that I will need it. I should have put the money in a separate account.
