Now the decorators have left I have discovered there are lots of specks of dried on emusion on my brand new Karndean floor.
Any ideas how to remove them without damaging the tiles?

I had this problem last year ( on Karndean) and rubbed a little cream cleanser on the paint, it came off.

I mean the Cif type cleanser.

If that doesn't work try nail varnish remover in an inconspicuous place.

If they are only small specks, will they not shift with a dry nylon scourer?

lemongrove - did you use Cif on a cloth or a scourer - I`m concerned about scratching the tile surface.

(I might have to kill the decorator - I can`t believe how much mess he has made)

If it's only emulsion will warm soapy water not take it off? I wouldn't like to use anything abrasive.

Hot water and a dab of Cif on a rough e cloth.

Hot water melts the emulsion ( dilutes rather.)

DD used her fingernails.

I have a Karndean floor and if this happened I think the first thing I'd try would be very gently nudging/scraping the specks off with an old credit/bank card rather than getting any chemicals near it. Depends how much time you're prepared to spend, could be a bit of a faff. Have you got the official Karndean cleaning solution? Might be worth trying that neat on a soft cloth. Good luck, what a pain!

I use a bit of Cif in warm water to clean the Karndean floor all the time, so it doesn’t hurt it, neither does Flash.

Thanks everyone - I have emailed Karndean too so will see what the official solution is

Jalima1108 Sun 29-Oct-17 16:53:44

Thank you - that'[s the flooring I would like but couldn't remember the name!

lemongrove Sun 29-Oct-17 18:52:33

It’s very good Jalima and hard wearing, we have had it for ten years and it’s as good as new.

DD has it everywhere downstairs except the kitchen, like lemongrove, for over ten years, and it has kept its good looks. Not cheap but worth every penny.

eddiecat, surely your decorator should have cleaned up the splatters? but maybe you don't trust him with your floor.

Don't kill the decorator on the kitchen floor!
