Glass decanters

My DH has been presented with glass decanters over the years and silly me washed them last week and now they have marks inside.
Any advice on how to get the decanters clear again. Thanks

A Steradent tablet dropped into the decanter, then filled up with warm water and left overnight. Empty and rinse the next morning and your decanter will be sparkling.

Bleach? It works with glass vases.

A teaspoon or so or dry rice, barley or similar, a squish of washing-up liquid, some vinegar or lemon juice and a small amount of warm water. Give it a good shake so that the grains do the cleaning, then empty it all out and rinse in hotter water, but not too hot. Drain it upside-down to let all the water out.

Or the cheap version of Milton sterilising fluid (available from pound shops in bottles).

Too much bleach can ruin the surface of glasses and make them milky for ever - I would go with the Steradent or Milton.

Want to say thank you for your tips, I'm trying the steradant tab tonight. Wish me luck.

Are they glass or crystal?

I would use Milton too - how did you get on?

I have tried the steradant tablet, they have come up ok not as they were. Have been the shops today and have got some Milton so will try that.
Thanks for your replies xx
