I am looking into this situation also. Want to move from my 3 bed terrace as have new neighbours. I have no close family so feel the need to be somewhere were there are others of a similar age. Only problem is I have a small dog. I would not get much more than £100,00 for my home, if that. So I will look at those links also

This is the site you need: www.housingcare.org/index.aspx

Lists all kinds of elderly accommodation. If she knows where she wants to live and, especally if she wants to buy rather than rent, then Right Move is the place to look.

Local housing associations and your local Age UK are also worth speaking to.

Here's a link to AgeUK's information about Sheltered Housing which might be helpful.

Thanks for your response. No she's not homeless as such, but her sister has made it clear that she doesn't want her there any more. Very complicated situation.

She could contact her local authorite or housing associations to see if they have anything available. Is she being made homeless?

My DSIL needs to find somewhere to live. She has been living in her sister's flat for the past six years but this arrangement has become untenable. She is 71 years old and is in very good health, fit and active. She has asked me to help her find something and tbh I'm not sure where to start. She would need help with housing benefits etc as she only has the state pension and a little bit extra that her son gives her each month. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thank you.
