Old fashioned carpet sweepers?

Anyone else still use one - I don't mean the rechargeable ones. I had been meaning to get one for a while, but a friend was about to take an old Ewbank to the tip!
Fantastic for quickly getting up those bits on the carpet without invariably having to use the vacuum cleaner.
I've also got a cordless Dyson, but use the old Ewbank a lot. Very eco-friendly too - no electricity!

Sadly our old Ewebank. called a push me pull you, died I could not get spares. Himself bought one in Argos, a more shadow or the original and it went to Charity recycling.

The old ones were always the best, and that just not nostalgia speaking.

Not a carpet sweeper [obviously] but I bought a spin dryer a few years ago and use it all the time when I have a small amount of washing.

I have had one for years and we have a pale carpet in our sitting/dining area which shows everything. The old carpet sweeper picks everything up, no flex, no plugs and just a nice useful swish sound. It is invaluable.

I love my Ewbank for a quick tidy round

The last chap I worked for had one, and it was excellent.
My mum always used hers, every day.

MIL still has hers.
Even though she has dementia
She still has a sweep around with it.
Its light and safe no plugs or wires.
We empty it as she doesn't remember that bitsmile

I have my mothers' sweeper. A chargeable Dyson is all very well until I forget to charge it! If I don't fancy putting my knees through using a dustpan and brush the sweeper comes in handy.

I had to explain to my 20-something DD what a carpet sweeper was last week when there was a woman using one on Call the Midwife
