I prefer to keep the heating on low overnight and because I get up in the morning and the house is warm I do not need a high temperature to keep it at a comfortable level. It is cheaper than finding a plumber who can visit this side of Easter.

Or keep the heating on. Even on a low temperature.

Maybe you all know this already but...: on nights when you know that temperatures may drop to below zero, simply turn on ONE cold tap in the house so just a thread of water trickles out. This keeps the circulation in the pipes moving and thus prevents them icing up. The waste of water is fairly minimal and it really works.
