My FIL had one made up years ago for his back door, just a frame on hinges with (easy to buy) black mesh on it.

MIL still uses it every day, it isn’t that sturdy but it’s on the outside of the back door and is perfectly adequate.

I need them at the moment on all of my windows, the flies are a nuisance in this heat.

Nina just googled your suggestion. My husband can relax.
Thank you.

Right watch this space. I’ll put pester power on turbo charge.
Somehow though I can’t see him starting a new business.

I'd also love one, especially for the patio door.
In Canada they seem to be standard in homes so someone must make them!

Just one’d. Or justnoneed! I’m married to one- a carpenter I mean. I should have said I have been looking for one, not ‘we’
We do talk about it, I have tried the magnetic ones and other useless things. He hates those strips of plastic or beads. Maybe I’ll try them next?
He made a table for friends the other week but, hey, I’m his wife!

The ones I saw were hinged and ridged. Like you see on USA TV programmes

I would try and find a local carpenter/handyman to make and fit one.

Australia!
We keep looking too. It would be nice if it was also lockable
I keep trying to persuade my DH to start making them.
Our DD has them in Australia and has great screens in the windows too. Their windows slide so no handles etc. to get in the way.

We have one on our caravan. It pulls down and up so its lovely and cool without anything flying in. I will try googling it. I think it would be good at home too.

Thank you Ninathenana, but they only have the mesh curtains that fix on with Velcro, I`m looking for a permanent door fixture.

Does anyone know where I can purchase, and have fitted, a mesh screen door to go outside my present back door? I want a permanent fixture, not one of those flimsy things that fasten on with Velcro. I have a morbid terror or wasps, don`t care much for most insects, but wasps terrify me, and I need to keep them out at all costs, but let fresh air in during summertime.
