Thank you , everyone . Isn't it funny that so many folks have connections in both Hull and the NE . When we viewed the house in Bedlington , the neighbours were from Hull !
I am planning to go and visit and really get our bearings and see where really appeals . It's such a big decision , isn't it?

Your post rings many bells smile.
I come from Blyth originally, which is near Bedlington.
I also lived in Hull 1968-90.
Many years wandering in between but we're now back in the NE, in Gateshead.
Why not look round the coast, eg Blyth,, Seaton Sluice, Cullercoats etc.
Houses are so much cheaper here, and the people are so friendly.

I have two sets of friends living in bedlington. One couple love it.The other hate it as they have dreadful neighbours. I would go with the advise given and try to get to know the area before moving. Hope I all goes well.

I would suggest taking a short term let or air b&b and get to know the area a bit first.
I live in Hull and have also lived in the North East, we moved many times through my husbands career so I know how hard it is to move to a new area.
Take your time and get it right.
Good luck.

My sister brought up her boys in Morpeth, which is just about 5 miles from Bedlington.
It's a lovely area, there are loads of country walks, good pubs etc. I don't know Bedlington myself, but the surrounding countryside is beautiful.
My sister and her family loved Morpeth, which is the county town of Northumberland.

Hi , anyone on here live in Bedlington? Just wondering what living there is like ?
I'm originally from Birtley but have lived in Hull for 30 years. Now retired I really want to move home to the NE . Sadly my parents are dead so Birtley is not an option.
My sister loves in north Newcastle and our daughters in Edinburgh ( where we could never dream of affording a home )
Bedlington seems a good compromise. We've visited , viewed a house and really liked it . However , it's a big decision and I would like some advice and views about living in the area.
Thank you x
