Dyson Battery life

I know there have been threads on this before and I have searched previous ones, but can anyone who has a Dyson V10 cordless tell me if the run time is as good as Dyson say? It is supposed to be sixty minutes. We were all set to buy one until DH started reading revues about the run time on the battery not being as good as Dyson make it out to be. I have read that running it on high power has a negative effect on run time, but would be grateful for any current user comments. Also, is it good on hard floors?

I could never find the time or patience to vacuum for 60 minutes. I run it over my hard kitchen floor in about 5 minutes.

I also have a Roomba and I leave this on downstairs when I go to bed. Job done.

My “little” Dyson Animal V6 has a runnng time of 20 minutes which I think is more than long enough to do any sort of housework before going right off it and having a coffee.

(I have never actually got to the end of it as I tend to use it for a quick tidy up or dealing with a small area, not because I am a total slob grin )

My V6 is supposed to run for 45 minutes. That is more than enough time to do my entire house!? I have never used it until it ran out of ?so I can't really say.

I vacuum my whole house with my Dyson cordless in less than 30mins it’s never run out of battery life but if you use the power boost a lot it will run out much quicker . I only use the power boost to do a long pile rug in the living room. It’s great on hard floors, carpets and Lino type floor.
Unless you have a mansion it’ll be fine best thing my husband ever persuaded me we needed ?

My V6 animal cleans everywhere I need before running out of power. It’s brilliant,I’ve recommended them to loads of people and they’ve all been pleased.
They’re often discounted in the sales, so search around.

I have a v10 and the battery life is much better than earlier models. It also has 3 suction settings, so the max suction uses more power and therefore shorter battery life. I can't move the vacuum on max in my lounge at all as the carpet is too thick. I can use it on max in other rooms. So honestly it depends on how thick your carpets are and what suction setting you use. I also have a v6 bought earlier and it doesn't compare except in looks to the v10. I have a large 4 bed house and neither would do the whole house without a recharge but that's fine because neither would I, so I do half put it back on charge and have a cup of tea then do the other half. I love my Dyson.

Thank you for all the replies. I let Himself read them and he seems satisfied that he is not going to be wasting his hard earned! We have hard floors downstairs and carpets upstairs, but both our current Dyson are rather unwieldy and long in the tooth, and difficult to get into nooks and crannies, so we thought this might be just the ticket!

Does Himself do the vacuuming?

It’s also great for inside the car.

I've had a V8 for 2 years, it's brilliant. I can do the whole house on one charge and normal setting. The only drawback is the .5litre capacity tank which means it needs emptying during the cleaning. The V10 has larger capacity so I guess it's heavier.

He does indeed, Flexible. It’s his hobby?!

Is he for hire?
