Offer on house

Ex estate agent here (yes I know). For me the worrying thing would be that the EA hasn't been able to contact them, not so much that nothing has happened on the legal side. I would ask the agents to give them one more go and then reinstate viewings. I would also ask the EA to write to them with this information. Good luck and I hope it works out for you.

We have had this happen with 2 properties. In both cases they had gone on holiday!!
Fortunately these were both rental properties, so not so much of a worry.
We instructed solicitor to put them back on the market.

the law should be changed here!

I remember accepting an offer on my old house and the female telling the estate agent after I had accepted the offer that she did not really want the house. The estate agent quite rightly told her what he thought.

There are so many timewasters- do what Framilode suggested and then put the house on the market again- do not waste any more time.

I get fed up with the weekend timewasters but to put an offer in as well to me is the lowest of the low.

We've sold our house twice and the houses we were buying were taken off the market before the closing date.Its horrible,it messed up not just our house move but the lovely young families who had hoped to move into ours. That was 3 years ago and we decided to try a move again .

Our house is currently for sale ,the "new" house we're buying has been taken off the marker as we requested and the man selling it is in no hurry as he has already moved in with a new partner.If it falls through again there isn't a cats chance in hell I'll ever go through the selling up process a 4th time . Stressed to the max

Have spoken to EA . They have taken the under offer off. They will try and contact the buyer today. It seems she usually contacts them at wends. The offer was £2,000 below asking price. They are renting and in their late 40,so. Never bought before it was their last chance to get on the ladder. They really seemed genuine she loved the house and he said "it is up to you love". Just hope I don't miss my dream bungalow. Seller, daughter of owner, has been hanging on for me.
