Relocating to Wiltshire from Vancouver but existing tenant refuses to move out.

Good afternoon everyone, we need your help. My wife and I are moving to Wiltshire from Vancouver and have found a perfect home to rent in Tisbury. Unfortunately at the last minute the existing tenant has refused to move out. We don't know how long this will take to sort out but we require temporary accommodation for us and our two mature border terriers by June 1 latest for at the most up to three months. This will allow us time to find another home to lease if the present situation does not end in our favour. We are both in our mid 50s and semi retired. Anyone interested could speak with our estate agent who could explain our predicament. Any suggestions would be most appreciated. This is a difficult time of year to find a holiday let for that length of time. Kind regards, Graham and Anne

Unfortunately this is the system. The existing tennants wont get assistance with onward housing if they leave willingly. That would make them "voluntarily homeless". The citizens advice service has probably advised them to stay put until forced out.

Could take some time.

Nobody can speak to estate agents on your behalf it wont work. Why not hire a holiday let for a few weeks so you are in the area and free to view vacant properties as they come up

Tisbury is a lovely place, but if you want to rent for a while while you look round for a house to buy, consider other places in Wiltshire.It’s not a huge county and there are many nice villages, and also Swindon which always has many places to rent for 6 months or a year.

You may also need to put your dogs in kennels whilst in tempory lets. Unless you go very cheap (caravan park) or very expensive (dog friendly cottage hire) most temp lets say no to dogs, especially flats.

Dont mean to sound bleak just thinking practically/realistically
