Hello all, usual good wishes!

The new flooring is due to be put down tomorrow in the hall, kitchen and downstairs loo!grin

We will be having the same in the sitting room, the chaps wanted to do it all in one hit, but tbh, I just couldn't face it confused

We have had bare chipboard type stuff since lifting the laminate, so really looking forward to having a "proper" floor again!

Although, of course it will mean that I will have to start mopping again.......

Enjoy, phoenix. wine

It will be worth the mopping. What sort of flooring have you chosen?

phoenix Wed 01-May-19 19:03:43

Thanks kitty! I have this recurring dream where they turn up with the wrong one and insist on laying it!

It's so exciting isn't it. when you have something new done in the house or garden? I had my drive powerwashed today and could not wait to get back from a day out with friends, to see my lovely clean drive. My window cleaner did the job ....and well done too....very pleased. Well worth £90.
I haven't paid him yet. By the time, I got back, he had left.

It won't be popular with many, Purpledaffodil but after much agonising, it it is a very heavy duty, cat proof vinyl!

get a steam mop ,I wouldn't be without mine ,my kitchen is 33 feet long and the thought of mopping and drying it any other way is unthinkable ,the steam mop runs over it it jig time

crazyH Wed 01-May-19 19:20:45

Wow Paddyann......33feet long? I can't imagine how large your house must be, if the kitchen is that big ?

You will be glad when it is finished. Have you seen the TV advert for the Bissel Crosswave? It looks very useful for your type of flooring. It could even add to your excitement! smile

That does seem a very long kitchen!

Btw, I do have a steam mop, but don't find it takes any less time than the Vileda one that I also have.

(Get me, 2 mops!)

Try one of these, phoenix. I wouldn't be without mine.

Merlot I can't see or hear the word "Bona" without thinking of Julian & Sandy from Round the Horn! grin

merlotgran Wed 01-May-19 20:45:04

Yep! grin

Cherrytree59 Wed 01-May-19 21:26:19

I second the Bonagrin

shysal I know we can't recommend products but the one you mentioned; is it any good? I have wooden floors and find that I have to run a vacuum over it especially a long the edges of units, before running a mop over it. Does this pick up crumbs and dog hair?

We’re having heavy duty vinyl with a lovely finish in our new sunroom, I much prefer it to the cold hard tiles we have in our kitchen and bathroom.
