Bumpy bits on cashmere and wool

You can get a cashmere comb, which will de-pill your jumpers without shaving them.

Something like this:

If they're small, it might work to wrap some masking tape around your hand, sticky side out. Then rub it over the wool

I have the same problem and after that advice I am going to try using the pet roller I use for getting cat hairs off my clothes.

Sorry; but that advice will remove other fibres as well as the pill, so your expensive things will wear out quickly.

A cashmere comb will protect the rest of the jumper, and just remove the pills.

I don't have any cashmere but last winter I bought a few nice long wool jumpers. They were not cheap. One was £80. After two wearings it had started to ball all over the front. really shabby looking.

The others went the same way and it has put me off wool.

I have several woollen jumpers from Woolovers and have never had the problem with pilling. Cool machine wash.

I knit a lot, with luxury fibres, and a lot of them do pill, just with wear. It's not a sign of a cheap garment - quite the reverse.

Cheaper fibres can be shaved with one of those battery operated shavers (specially for woollens, not for stubble!), but I wouldn't use one on cashmere.
